What's it got to do with Serious Sam?
To be honest, I never did complete First Encounter or Serious Sam II...maybe should go back to both in anticipation. They were enjoyable, but quite hard.

I still believe that if you get the right collection of people to work on it who are willing to work closely with Rockstar, then it'll be a success. Maybe not a masterpiece, but a critical and commerical success.
I have yet to get the Lost and the Damned. I feel I'm going to be negating its usefullness as DLC though...I'll be buying it via disc with the other expansion pack methinks.

The main issue is that they want creative freedom to be able to do things. It's the same as Bungie with Halo. While that failure was apparently internal between Fox/Universal, it still wouldn't have helped that Bungie and Microsoft were wanting to approve everything. That's why MS have gone the anime route, because the production houses are a lot more approachable and work with lots of existing IPs.

Well, I disagree. With a great director and great script, it really could. It would have very little relevance to the game, so if they lift GTA IV's story into there - it could work.
Opening narration from Nico spliced with footage of the Bosnian War and Nico seeing people die and such, Nico meets Roman at Pier, Nico realises it's rubbish in LC too, Nico meets love interest etc.

Exactly...the Milo & Kate aftermath resulted from people believing Molyneux too good to be true. Yes, I guess they are right in a way. But we have built the world of, not only games but, movies and TV shows and music using "smoke and mirrors".
